To me designing, custom painting race helmets is an art form. I strive to give each client an original, one off design that reflects their personality. Working closely with clients via text, e-mail, phone calls I’m successful in 99.9% of the time. There are those that want a $3000 helmet design for a fraction of that, it can’t be done. I have a shop rate, overhead just like any other shop this is not run out of my garage, I don’t do this part time. Designing and custom painting race helmets has been my profession for 20 years.
You can have three or four bands of color around your helmet with some airbrush high lights,pin striping like most of the Euro style race helmets. They all look pretty much the same to me.
I like to think outside that box and come up with original designs that will set my clients apart from everyone else in the paddock or on the grid. Sponsorship these days is hard to come by you need to stand out from all the other racers, that’s what my helmet designs do.
The devil is in the detail that is put into each design. You want people looking at your helmet, all the detail and commenting, telling others about it. With each of my original details that is the main goal.
